URBANA – The University of Illinois flash economic index slipped to 106.6 in May, down from 107.4 in April. But a UI economist said the state economy is still performing well.
"The current reading indicates that the Illinois economy is growing at a good, but not a spectacular, pace," said J. Fred Giertz of the UI's Institute of Government and Public Affairs.
