CHAMPAIGN – On second thought, the Champaign City Council gave tentative approval Tuesday to three liquor ordinance amendments designed to limit bar practices that encourage binge drinking.
The council had defeated most of the amendments when it met in study session June 26, but the questions were repolled at the start of Tuesday's session because two council members, Gina Jackson and Michael La Due, had been absent from the earlier meeting.
