FutureGen bill goes to governor

SPRINGFIELD – Legislation designed to bring the $1.4 billion FutureGen project to Mattoon or Tuscola is headed to Gov. Rod Blagojevich's desk, after winning overwhelming Senate approval on Thursday.

"This is great news for Illinois and brings us one step closer to securing this crucial project," said state Sen. Dale Righter, R-Mattoon, a chief co-sponsor of the bill.
