SPRINGFIELD – Energy is a part of everything farmers do, and "high octane" farming set the pace for discussions this week at the Illinois Farm Bureau's Commodities Conference.
"How many of you are sorry you planted so much corn?" asked Dale Durchholz, an AgriVisor analyst, referring to spring strength in corn prices that caused farmers to plant record corn acreage, the summer slump in prices when the size of the crop was clear, and the outlook for soybean prices that just gets better.
