More County residents unhappy with tax assessments

Beth Rehberg filed an appeal on the assessment of her condominium at 1308 S. State St., in Champaign, which put its market value at $108,509. She bought it for $53,400 in August 2004.
Champaign resident Beth Rehberg went beyond just griping about her property taxes this year.
Fed up with seeing the assessment on her older condominium increase year after year, Rehberg filed a written appeal of her assessment Sept. 10 with the Champaign County Board of Review. Rehberg paid $53,400 for her condominium at 1308 S. State St., C, in August 2004, when she bought it from her great aunt's estate in a private sale. Two appraisals at the time put the condominium's value at $55,000 and $60,000.
