SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois House is expected to override $463 million worth of budget cuts today, but the governor's amendatory veto will stand unless the Senate takes similar action. As of Monday, that appeared unlikely.
"I think it's a foregone conclusion that this House will overwhelmingly override the veto of the governor," said state Rep. Shane Cultra, R-Onarga. "Then it goes to the Senate and nothing happens."
