DNA evidence proves useful in convicting repeat offenders

URBANA – Duke Harris admits that the presence of DNA in the evidence against a person he's prosecuting makes his job easier.

"In light of all the 'CSI'-type shows, the public loves to have forensic evidence. DNA is probably the most compelling because it's gotten the most media play of anything," said Harris, an assistant Champaign County state's attorney who's been prosecuting criminals for 25 years.
