Science projects are successful collaborations

RANTOUL – Sam Paris-Cheaton's prize-winning project started with a question in chemistry class at Rantoul Township High School.

Teacher Tom Gelsthorpe said Sam, then a sophomore, took an interest in the organic LED lights lesson he was teaching and asked if they would work with plastic. Together they tackled that electronic and molecular challenge as a project for the NAACP's ACT-SO program.
