Owner of horses pleads innocent to 45 charges

CHARLESTON – Dr. Ernest Rose pleaded innocent to 45 misdemeanor charges that he neglected horses he owned and improperly disposed of dead horses.

Rose, the owner of almost 70 horses taken from a Charleston farm earlier this fall, requested a jury trial. It's set for 11 a.m. Jan. 9 in Coles County Circuit Court, according to the Coles County circuit clerk's office.
