Champaign council approves property tax levy

CHAMPAIGN – The city council gave final approval Tuesday to a $19 million property tax levy.
The levy is expected to increase the city's portion of the overall property tax bill by $47 for the owner of a $150,000 home, from $570 this year to $617 next year, on taxes payable next summer.
