URBANA – A homeless man accused of shooting Champaign police officers near a city park last summer has been declared fit to stand trial.
Assistant Champaign County State's Attorney Steve Ziegler and Public Defender Randy Rosenbaum on Thursday agreed to the contents of an evaluation of Donnell Clemons by Champaign psychiatrist Larry Jeckel, who found Clemons able to understand the charges against him and able to cooperate with his attorney.
