One street divides Edison Middle School from the main branch of the Champaign Public Library and, for dozens of students, that street might as well be a slash dividing their day: school/after school.
"As soon as school lets out, within three or four minutes, we have a good influx of kids," said Kristina Hoerner, the library's adult services manager. "It is for some of them a place for them to continue their day with their friends a little bit longer.
