Robbery attempt fails at convenience store

CHAMPAIGN – Police are investigating an attempted robbery Friday evening at a Champaign convenience store.
Officers were dispatched to the Colonial Pantry at 211 W. University Ave., C, at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, according to a police report. It said a man tried to rob the store, but the clerk called police.
