Grant puts small dent in shelter's power bill

CHAMPAIGN – Hardship grants totaling $7,500 will help Restoration Urban Ministries whittle down its past-due utility bills, but the nonprofit agency still owes Ameren thousands.

The Christian-based homeless shelter qualified for the grants under the rate-relief package negotiated by Ameren and state legislators.
