Volunteers give Gibson City church a real bail-out

GIBSON CITY – When 32 inches of floodwaters filled the basement of the First Baptist Church of Gibson City last week, the damage was immense enough to challenge any pastor.

But the church's pastor, the Rev. Tom Lonas, who had served the Gibson City area for a year, had died just a few days before the flood.
