FISHER – Village officials have not sat on their hands since last month's meeting, when angry residents vented over drainage problems and sewer overflows in their basements.
Water and wastewater superintendent Mike Hilber told the board Thursday that the village's original sewer system is 40 years old. He said manholes and joints connecting clay sewer pipes are the greatest source of water infiltration in times of heavy rain.
