GIBSON CITY – State Rep. Shane Cultra, R-Onarga, had some strong words for recent failings of the Illinois General Assembly when he spoke at a senior citizens coffee hosted by sixth-grade students of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley Middle School.
"Things aren't working very well in Springfield," Cultra told the seniors and a seventh-grade social studies class Thursday. "I don't think there's going to be much done this year," he predicted, referring to the stalemate and dislike between House Speaker Michael Madigan and Gov. Rob Blagojevich.
