How long must you wait for your rebate?

How fast you'll get your "economic stimulus payment" from the Internal Revenue Service depends largely on your Social Security number – and on whether you've requested direct deposit or not.
The IRS will begin sending out the payments to 130 million households on May 2, continuing through July 11. People who request direct deposit on their federal income tax returns will get their payments first. Those who request paper checks will get theirs later.
