Seat Belt Convincer drives home a point

Driver's education student April Wilson covers her eyes before impact while riding the Seat Belt Convincer at Central High School in Champaign on Thursday. The convincer shows the rider what a 5 to 7 mph impact would feel like.

CHAMPAIGN – Seconds after 16-year-old Antoine Anderson buckled his seat belt and started moving, he slammed to a stop, the seat belt pulling tight across his stomach.

"If y'all ate some cereal, don't get in," the Central High School sophomore advised his classmates.
