Group has been watching state's resources for 150 years

From the prairie to the plow, from a rural landscape to an increasingly urban one, the Illinois Natural History Survey has kept close track of the ever-changing natural resources of Illinois for 150 years.

"Illinois has been a state for 190 years. and almost through the entire history of the state we've had biologists working here – which is amazing," says Michael Jeffords, an entomologist who also serves as the public relations and education liaison for the survey.
