The former Ford County sheriff's residence and jail, which dates back to 1872, will be used as office space once renovations take place this spring. The jail cells may be opened to the public for tours after the building is cleaned up and remodeled, perhaps as early as this winter.
PAXTON – More than a decade ago, it was a dark and dreary, dungeon-like building that housed some of Ford County's most notorious criminals.
The former Ford County sheriff's residence and jail still has that same gloomy look and feel today, but it should soon have an entirely different use.
