Rubens Chocolates closes; owner will keep making candy

Chris Thurston, owner of Rubens Fine Belgian Chocolates, cleans out a cabinet Monday at her recently closed retail store in Champaign. Thurston is discontinuing retail sales and is going to sell her chocolates wholesale.

Thurston, the master chocolate maker with a Belgian accent and longtime owner of Rubens Chocolates, has closed her store at the Shoppes of Knollwood.
