A witness says a boy was riding a minibike Wednesday near Decatur Aeration and Temperature Metal Shop at State and Main streets in Fairmount, above, when he attempted to turn around, lost control of the vehicle and ran into the sheet-metal products stored in front. The boy was listed in fair condition at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

FAIRMOUNT – A young Fairmount resident was listed in fair condition Wednesday afternoon following an accident Tuesday evening that could prompt the village to change its ordinances.

Mayor David Ferber said the boy, age 9 or 10, was riding a motorized vehicle down State Street at around 6 p.m. Tuesday and attempted to turn around.
