Concrete path being poured at Champaign's Morrissey Park

Blaine Baker of Royal, a worker with Feutz Contractors of Paris, cuts a winding sidewalk Friday at Dan Morrissey Park in Champaign. The contractor began pouring concrete Thursday morning and plans to resume the pour to finish the sidewalk next week.

CHAMPAIGN – Susan Reimer lives near the east side of Dan Morrissey Park in southwest Champaign.

It's a well-used park, she said, with tennis courts and lots of open space used by youth soccer leagues. But the 20-acre park is going to get even busier this summer.
