Police arrest armed robbery suspect after long search

Police lead an unidentified man away from a Campustown apartment building after a hours-long search for a armed robbery suspect near the intersection of Third Street Springfield Avenue in Champaign. The apprehension was made shortly before 9 p.m. Friday.
Local police took a man into custody tonight after hours of carefully searching an apartment building on the University of Illinois campus.
Since late afternoon, Champaign, Urbana and University of Illinois police had been trying to clear an apartment building on the University of Illinois campus following an armed robbery.
