Committee can't agree on two bridge resolutions

DANVILLE – The city council's public works committee voted down two resolutions Tuesday night to replace a bridge on Voorhees Street.

The committee voted 2-2 on an agreement between the city and the Norfolk Southern Railway Company that allows the city to remove inactive railroad tracks at Bowman, Hazel and Jackson streets, as well as replace a bridge at Voorhees Street with an at-grade crossing.
