Durbin takes aim at 'big oil'

U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., talks about the Federal Trade Commission's decision to investigate record-high gas and oil prices at a press conference Sunday in front of a gas station at Vine and California streets in Urbana.

Remember the good old days, when gasoline was cheap?

Like, seven years ago?

Back in 2001, gasoline was about $1.51 a gallon.

Today it's hovering just below $4 a gallon in Champaign County, and even higher in metropolitan areas like Chicago.

What the heck is going on?
