Man admits role in accident that killed teen

DANVILLE – On the day his jury trial was to begin, a 23-year-old Georgetown man pleaded guilty to amended charges stemming from a 2006 fatal accident, in which he ran over a teen with his car, then left the scene.

Jonathan K. Gallez pleaded guilty Wednesday to obstruction of justice, a Class 3 felony, and failing to report an accident, a petty offense. Two other charges of leaving the scene of a personal-injury accident – failing to stop, a Class 4 felony, and leaving the scene – failing to report the accident, a Class 3 felony, were dismissed.
