Teen accused of battery after fight near Centennial

CHAMPAIGN – A Champaign teenager is accused of punching another teen in the face, breaking his jaw, in a fight near Centennial High School.
On Thursday, Judge Heidi Ladd found there was probable cause for a juvenile delinquency petition accusing the youth of aggravated battery. She set a status hearing in the case for May 29. The judge also ordered that the 16-year-old Champaign male be held in the Champaign County Youth Detention Center pending further court hearings.
