A barricade bars access Monday to the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River at Kickapoo State Park near Danville.

Boating on the Middle Fork of the Vermilion River from the northern boundary of the Middle Fork Fish and Wildlife Area to the southern boundary of Kickapoo State Park is restricted until further notice.

Officials with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources said swift currents and high levels of debris in the water prompted them to place the restriction.

Anyone found boating in that section while the restriction is in place will be ticketed by state conservation police.
