Jobs teach students to stick with school

Briana Garza, 15, who said she wanted to drop out of Danville High School a year ago, started working at McDonald's as part of the school's Work Experience and Career Exploration program in September 2007. She says the program gave her a new attitude toward work and education.

DANVILLE – A year ago, Briana Garza wanted to drop out of Danville High School.

That changed when she became involved in the school's Work Experience and Career Exploration Program this past year. The school-to-work transition program gave her real work experience and a paycheck – and a new attitude toward education.
