DANVILLE – After close to 14 months behind bars, a former Belgium police officer who was accused of using his position to sexually abuse several women is a free man, but he won't be able to return to law enforcement.
David L. Lewis, 46 – of Lafayette, Ind., and formerly of Danville – was released Monday from the Vermilion County Jail after pleading guilty to amended charges: two counts of attempted obstruction of justice and two counts of attempted official misconduct, Class A misdemeanors. The remaining 41 felony counts he faced were dismissed.
