Kirk Bedwell, right, explains how the new JANO computer software works Thursday as Bill May demonstrates on a computer at the Champaign County Courthouse in Urbana.

URBANA – If there's a sense of tension emanating from certain employees at the Champaign County Courthouse this week, don't take it personally. Several of them will be getting their first real taste of new computer software that's been in the works for five years.
