Boys academy bursting at the seams

Employees of Alliance Building & Contracting, Effingham, work Thursday on the building under construction at Notre Dame de La Salette Boys Academy in Olivet. The building, when completed, will house classrooms, offices and a library at least three times the size of the current one.

OLIVET – Nearly three years after opening the Notre Dame de La Salette Boys Academy in Olivet, officials are constructing a new building to give the growing student body more elbow room.

"Right now, everything's ... mixed together," said the Rev. Michael McMahon, headmaster and priest, when referring to St. Joseph's Hall, which houses classrooms and staff offices as well as the living quarters for 60-some students and a handful of staff.
