The congregation at Pleasant View Christian Church in Bismarck disbanded in July 2007. In June, it donated the church building to the Newell Township Historical Society.
BISMARCK – When the congregation of the Pleasant View Christian Church in Bismarck grew so small it was forced to disband, its members wanted to secure the future of its church building.
The building at the corner of Holloway and Myers streets was the second edition of the church. The first, built in 1853 was on Bowman Avenue, north of the Vermilion Regional Airport near Leonard Cemetery. In 1911, the congregation decided to move into town and dedicated its $7,000 investment in 1912.
