Texas man arrested after truck search yields cannabis haul

URBANA – A Texas man is being held in lieu of $250,000 bond in the Champaign County jail, accused of bringing cannabis into Illinois to sell.
Javier Lopez, 39, who gave authorities an address in Grulla, Texas, was arraigned Monday on charges of unlawful cannabis trafficking and unlawful possession with intent to deliver cannabis, alleging he had about 7½ pounds hidden in the engine compartment of his semitrailer truck.
