Danville police seeing metal thefts rise with scrap prices

A protective fence has been erected around the outside air-conditioning unit at Faith In Action South, 302 N. State St. in Westville.

WESTVILLE – When vandals stuck screwdrivers in the coils of the air-conditioning unit outside the Westville Fire Department building, firefighters simply locked it up.

A 6-foot-high fence with a padlocked gate surrounds the unit now.
