Attack on police officer nets homeless man 14 years in prison

URBANA – A homeless man who attacked a police officer who arrested him for trying to break into an Urbana home last winter was sentenced Friday to 14 years in prison.
Dwight Wishard, 49, pleaded guilty in June to attempted residential burglary, aggravated battery and disarming a police officer for crimes that happened Feb. 25.
