Recent renovations at Catlin Masonic Lodge 285 for its 150th anniversary have uncovered the stage of the opera house that used to operate on the first floor, as well as a 1914 curtain featuring advertisements that officials had stretched and mounted on the back wall.
CATLIN – Catlin Masonic Lodge 285 has done a bit of sprucing up to celebrate its 150th anniversary.
The lodge was chartered in 1858 and met at a downtown Catlin building until its new building was completed in 1898, at 107 N. Sandusky St. Meetings have been held continuously since the lodge was chartered; it now meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday.
