Firefighters respond to eighth fire at Champaign silo since May

Fire, rescue and police personnel respond to a fire Tuesday at the old grain elevator next to the Sport Redi-Mix plant on Wilber Avenue in Champaign.
CHAMPAIGN – Mike Kobel likes to look at the positives when discussing the number of trips his firefighters have made to the old grain elevator on Wilber Avenue in north Champaign, which is undergoing reclamation.
"Every time we go out, we can learn from that. Each time is a training experience," said the Eastern Prairie fire chief.
