Judge hands down 10-year prison term in drug case

URBANA – A Champaign man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Wednesday for having heroin for sale in his home.

Champaign County Judge Harry Clem imposed the sentence on Christopher Ward, 38, of the 1000 block of South Duncan Road. A jury convicted Ward in late July of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance for having about 5 grams of heroin in his bedroom.
