Early reviews of efforts to improve Garden Hills all positive

Ina Patterson, 17, plays with her cousin Mari Cribbett. Ina enjoyed her time with young kids so much during the Champaign Park District's summer program that she'll work this fall at Garden Hills Elementary.

CHAMPAIGN – Dorothy Roberts of 1705 Hedge Road is raising her two young granddaughters while still working full time.

So when she heard that the Champaign Park District was offering free, nine-week summer day camp for children who live in the Garden Hills neighborhood, she quickly signed up Keiarah, 8, and Keiandre, 6.
