Group hopes to help comfort injured soldiers' loved ones

RANTOUL – Army Sgt. First Class Richard Vaillancourt, a Rantoul native, was two days away from shipping out to Iraq when he was injured in a training accident.

While recuperating at Fort Gordon in Georgia, he noticed the families of the injured often come to the bases unprepared for what could be weeks of stay.
