Danville nears tax agreement on redevelopment

DANVILLE – The city's public services committee unanimously supported a redevelopment agreement Tuesday night between the city and a Colorado-based company that's developing the future site of the local social security office.

The city agreed to give back to the developer half of the property taxes that will be collected once construction is completed, and the developer will make extensive exterior improvements, including sidewalks, drainage work and landscaping.
