One woman injured in three-car collision in west Champaign

Champaign firefighters work to get a woman out of a sport-utility vehicle Monday after a three-car collision at the intersection of Springfield and Mattis avenues in Champaign. Champaign police think the woman injured her arm. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

CHAMPAIGN – One woman was injured after three vehicles collided Monday afternoon at the intersection of Springfield and Mattis avenues in west Champaign.

Champaign police Sgt. Charlie Shepard said preliminary information is that the collision occurred about 3 p.m. and that police think it was caused when one driver ran a red light.
