Land sale takes bite out of UI apple tradition

The property the University of Illinois orchard sits on is now owned by the UI Foundation and may eventually be sold. A new orchard has been proposed on Windsor Avenue between Lincoln Avenue and Race Street.

URBANA – The apple tasting was bittersweet, even if the apples weren't.

For the last 33 years University of Illinois students taking the Horticulture 100 class have had an opportunity to sample apples grown at the university orchard.
