PAXTON – Paxton police are unionizing, in a move that would shift collective bargaining representation to the Fraternal Order of Police.
"The officers have contacted the union and asked for representation," said Police Chief Bob Bane. The vote allows five of the police department's seven officers to be represented by the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police in the negotiation of wages, hours and other conditions of employment, Bane said.
