Voters on Tuesday night defeated a tax measure to pay for the Rossville Area Fire Protection District station north of Rossville by a 13-vote margin.
DANVILLE – Rossville Area Fire Protection officials plan to ask voters again in April for a tax increase to pay for a new fire station after the same question was defeated Tuesday night by 13 votes.
Dean Grimes, president of the Rossville Area Fire Protection District board, said that because the vote was so close, the board will definitely consider asking voters again in the April consolidated election to consider a property-tax increase.
