Candlestick Lane's future doesn't look so bright

The lights on Urbana's Candlestick Lane pop on at dusk on Christmas Day 2004. Grant Place residents have seen a decrease in interest in their annual holiday light display, and this year they will not ring in their 45-year tradition with a lighting ceremony.
It wouldn't seem like Christmas without the bright and colorful Candlestick Lane display in east Urbana. But the residents of Grant Place in east Urbana say they're dialing down their holiday celebration this year.
After 45 years, there no longer will be a lighting ceremony on the opening night (Dec. 6) of the display.

This story does not seem sad at all to me. I plan to take my kids to the Candlestick lane no matter how drab a picture this writer tries to place on it. Negative spin on Christmas? Not going to deter us~
!! Thanks for the people who put up lights, we love it no matter if one or 2 houses is not lit.
It might even snow and there will be magic!
