Urbana man charged with sex offenses

URBANA – A 38-year-old Urbana man who fathered a child with a teen-ager was charged Wednesday in Champaign County Circuit Court with criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
Grover Bennett, who listed an address in the 900 block of South Lierman Avenue, is accused of having sex between Jan. 1 and Feb. 29 with the girl, who was 16 at the time, and therefore unable to give knowing legal consent to having sex.
